Welsh Rugby Scarf Travel Log in Pictures

So sorry about this my friends, but I am running into the most annoying technical problems. I have taken several more photos, although not as many as I would have liked due to the weather and my current physical limitations. These have been successfully stored on my PC however either my Broadband link is so slow (which is the most likely cause) or my PC is at fault (unlikely) that I am unable to get any of them on to my Photobucket album - the link constantly times-out before I can get into Photobucket. I believe it is the Broadband link as it is notoriously slow (we're told we will be given a fibre-optic installation next year to improve matters!).

I will, of course, keep trying but as you know without that intermediate stage I am unable to post more images here. Believe me, I deeply regret this situation.

Derek, I will forward the scarf to you as soon as possible so that you have it for your deadline. My apologies to you and to everyone who has worked so hard to make this venture a success.

If by chance I am able to get the scarf for this saturday we are playing a gig and turning on a villages christmas lights in their village square. I could take it with me and get some more pics.

I have also been having problems with photobucket, the site crashes firefox browser when viewing my photos sometime and the site is very slow.

I am reluctant to change as it will be a nighmare changing all my Xmarks photo links.

Chris ... there will be quite a few more pics taken of the scarf upon its return to me. I have it on very high authority that the scarf is well en route to me first class. I might receive it today in which case it will come to the christmas lights gig we have to do later.

First of all, thanks to everyone for their kind comments but, whilst not wishing to dramatise things, I can say only that appearances can be deceptive! In short, I feel quite well most of the time but am plagued by 'limitations'. OK, that's more than enough about me - this is Derek's thread.

Thank you Derek and Chris for your recommendation of an alternative to Photobucket but, I am determined to persevere with it, at least for the time being, as I have hundreds of images stored there and cannot face trying to transfer them - anyway, I feel the problem lies with the Broadband service available here because I also have great difficulty in viewing many of the images others post at XMTS (I see more little red crosses than I do images!)

On Saturday, Internet traffic seems to be reduced and I have succeeded in getting a number of new images into my Photobucket albums, although it did take the entire afternoon to do so! I am therefore keeping fingers crossed and am about to attempt to post some of them here.............

On our return to Bicknell Grange, and beset by the technical problems, I had to make the sad decision to return the Welsh Scarf to its Cardiff home where Derek hoped it would be able to assist in switching-on the Christmas lights. I do hope Royal Mail got it there in time, and I must say it was a huge pleasure, and honour, having it in Bicknell Grange, Storrington.

In my early days on this board I became familiar with what notable person you were within the kilt community here Hamish. Since then I have followed your postings, the lead up to kilt 100 etc. While first and foremost I am happy for the success of Derek's project, I am also feeling very lucky to have shared the scarf along with a gentleman such as yourself. Thank you for the great pictures and I extend strong hopes for continued improvement with your health.

What a fab set of pics Ham. Thankyou so very much for taking the time out with the scarf and taking the pics, and even with your broadband problems, getting the pics posted in the end. Yay.
The scarf didnt make it for yesterday, but for I'm sure the postman will be knocking the door monday morning. I shall certainly put up a post in large capitol letters to say it has returned to Scarf HQ the minute it does. The scarf will have a very busy week in front of it and I will be taking lots of pics.
