Whew!! I've really got to update this thread more often! I hadn't done anything since Oct.

Anyway, the master list in the first post is up to date, and I've included a few that were mentioned in the my fav. celtic rock thread as well.

BTW, I found this list on Amazon. It's not an XMarks member's list (as far as I know) so I haven't included it on the master list yet, but in the spirit of the thread (finding new music), I'm posting it here. If anyone wants to recommend any of these groups, I'll be happy to add them into the master list; if people think I should integrate the whole list... well, I'll do that when I have more time.

The "disclaimer" says "Don't expect all these bands to sound like the Pogues, Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphys. Just as there is Celtic punk, there is also Celtic metal, hard rock, mainstream, electronica, world beat, jam band, fusion, psychedelic etc. Some bands just add a drum kit and electric bass to a folk lineup. Here you'll find the good, the bad and the ugly, according to your taste.

I haven't heard some bands so there will be a few mistakes, but most I have heard, and most identify themselves as a type of Celtic rock."

OK, now you're talking my language - MUSIC!!!

Great list you've put together there, Iolaus. I'd like to suggest/recommend some artists/bands not on your list.

    John McLean Allan
    The Bothy Band
    Ceili Rain
    Emerald Rose
    Iona
    Lunasa
    Planxty
    Runrig

    All highly recommended, IMHO
