Last Friday when I was up in Franklin, Matt mentioned having made a Pennsylvania tartan kilt for someone. Maybe, if we're lucky, he took a picture or two.
(Just the remaining fabric looked good. Unfortunately I would have had to be two feet tall for it to be enough for a kilt. )

AN ACT
1 Designating the Pennsylvania tartan as the official State tartan
2 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
3 WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania tartan was designed by William H.
4 Johnston and honors the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment, "The Black
5 Watch," whose success at the battle of Bushy Run in 1763 assured
6 British rule in Western Pennsylvania; and
7 WHEREAS, This tartan incorporates the colors of the
8 Pennsylvania State flag.
9 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
10 hereby enacts as follows:
11 Section 1. Official State tartan.
12 The Pennsylvania tartan is hereby selected, designated and
13 adopted as the official State tartan of the Commonwealth of
14 Pennsylvania. The tartan shall have a pattern of repeating half
15 -sett of threads, pivots full, as follows: blue-60, gold-4,
16 blue-4, gold-4, blue-10, green-10, black-30, blue-10, green-40,
17 red-4, black-6, red-4, green-40, blue-10, black-30, green-10,
1 blue-40, gold-4, blue-4.
2 Section 2. Effective date.
3 This act shall take effect in 60 days.

I like that tartan (unlike the Texas Bluebonnet - sorry fans)! I'm not from PA, but that's the colony where my ancestor McIntyre got off the boat and settled. I'm strongly considering a purchase.

This bill is still in committee as of today so it is not law until passed by both house and senate. I have to look these things up all the time at work...

I'm going to following this. This is very near to my heart beacuse I was born and raised in PA. The mintue the State House and State Senate pass this into law I am getting a kilt in the PA tartan!

as far as state tartans go, I'm quite partial to the New Hampshire tartan
