Maybe you don't like her. No reason to call her names . Please try and keep it civil

I'd just be a tad careful with this. As you said, a picture of you and another kilted man would be good, but I would fear too many pictures of kilted men, say, without a shirt and holding a massive axe or something would present a bad image of yourself ![Razz](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)
Overall though, I really like your ideas on this.

Umm... Someone here cares what I think of the HR woman at work who makes my department's life hell? I understand keeping talk civil between us xmark'ers, but... I dunno. That seems a bit much. Maybe my language was over the top for a public board, but keep it civil? Dunno. Whatever.
I'm a bit lost here. Especially with the "Thanks, my wife works in HR."
I seriously doubt your wife is the HR woman where I work... so... um... nevermind I'm not gonna try and figure it out.

My wife frequently gets chewed out by employees who do not understand the rules & regulations, (and I'm not making that comment towards you per se) silly as rules & regs sometimes may be. She has told me some of the things that have been said to her, and while they are not usually swear words, they're still pretty bad. Sorry, it just reminded me of that.
I think Freelander was just pointing out that using that term may be offensive to some here -- and we do have ladies who are members of the board.
Regards,
T.

I will gladly provide you with such a picture, just send me an axe. Or whatever.

Thanks, guys for all the ideas!!
Right now I am wearing trousers to show my good will but I am preparing to fight. I have spoken with my work council, and we are sure that the only dress code in our house says that skirts have to be knee length (no problem there!) and that all nursing personnel has to wear one white piece of clothing (this I do; I don´t even wear kilt while nursing because of the hygiene guidelines (60°C washing). And yes, if the length is a problem I will wear sarong, I do that alot at home and when I did my presentation on Burma here I wore Longyi too!
What really irks me is that for 1/2 year it was ok and now because of one uncomfortable man I am singled out for a personal dress code.
If they had asked politely I would have done it but now I am not prepared to have my clothing regulated for no real reason.

there may be something helpful.
Christians are just as human as everyone else and can be influenced by cultural conditioning, bias, misinformation etc.
If you can show them that a kilt is a male garment, not female, that Jesus didn't wear trousers etc. you may get somewhere.
I've been in a great variety of church situations kilted, and most of the time found acceptance, no obvious problems.
The "brethren" are very fundamental (a dirty word these days, but i mean it in a positive way), if you know anything of the Bible, you could discuss it on that level.
The Bible is most definately not against the wearing of kilts!!
Let me know if i can help, this concerns me a bit.
Whenever I am asked I am ready to discuss my kilt in the light of biblical teaching. No problem, I am quite firm there. BUT there was no discussion, I even heard of the mans problem with "men in skirts" only when I was told not to wear my kilt. But if it comes to that I will tell him that, as trousers are womens clothing nowadays (I mean even HIS wife wears trousers!!) I HAVE TO wear kilt if I want to obey Deutoronomy!
Am I glad I can let off some steam here where there are people who understand me!! :-D :-D
