Derek, this is just fantastic. I too am looking forward to hearing more about the folklore - but I am especially interested in your reviews of the beers you had the opportunity to sample. As a homebrewer who is just starting his research before trying a cider I am VERY interested to hear if you had the "rough cider" mentioned on the board at the Bush Inn. If so, what was it like?

Ialtog ... Elaine did have a half pint of the rough cider (7.5%). I tasted a little. It was very cloudy, not a lot of cider/apple taste to it really, dry, but would be extremely 'pokey' after having a few pints of the stuff. What I call a nice night nectar. I had a pint of Moorland's Old Speckled Hen (5.2%), from the barrel. Will post some of the folklore tales in due course ...
