A nice looking selection. Now I know what to tell my wife when she asks me what I would like for my birthday next month

To continue this thread, for those of you waiting on backordered Lewis kilt hose from the Scottish Tartans Museum, I was expecting a very large hose shipment (or as I call it, a "big box o' sox") sometime in mid-February. At least this is when I was told to expect it.

Those of you with calendars will note that mid-February has come and gone. Well, there was a shipping delay which I was only recently informed about. However, I have been told that the aforesaid "big box o' sox" has left Scotland on Tuesday and is now on its way to me. Assuming average shipping time, I suppose I'll get it one day next week.

The wait is almost over, and thank those of you for being patient!

Hopefully now I'll have plenty of stock for the spring season, so those of you thinking about ordering, please feel free!
    Matt

For those of you who are waiting for your Lewis kilt hose, it's going to be worth the wait. I ordered a pair of Brick Red Lewis hose from Matt a couple of weeks ago. They arrived a few days later. I'm impressed, they are really good looking kilt hose, I'm looking forward to wearing them this Saturday night with my Campbell of Cawdor kilt.

There is a great selection of colors available in this line including three shades of red. As some of the other have mention the tops are nice and thick and give you a nice foldover.

My wife has a backorder with the museum but she won't tell me what it is. Maybe I'm about to cash in on a delayed X-mas present.

Dang it, Matt, I still haven't found a job! Stop tempting me!!!

Seriously, very nice hose. When I do find a job I'll be giving them another look.

I suspect I'll have to call the museum to chat with Matt or one of his cohorts about color matching/complementing my most frequently worn kilts: those garters and hose are beyond intrigueing!

Bryan...where can I find an extra $100 in my allowance?

Trefor, might I ask you: which "supplier in Scotland"? I have been trying to trace retail outlets over here for these hose, the manufacturer even, but to no avail. With all due respect to Matt, I see little point in ordering from him in the USA, only for him then to send them back to me in the United Kingdom! Think of all the postal charges, and maybe even import duty!

Sorry Hamish, I thought I had given the URL before somewhere in the forums if not necessarily in this one.

I get mine from Highland Clans at http://www.highlandclans.co.uk/Kilt_...FTlNQgodESiW1Q they do superior hose at £20 and other single colour hose at £9.95 both prices including VAT.

There is a £5.00 shipping charge for orders under £50 but this is waved above this figure. I have found them fast to supply and good with communications. Have placed 3 separate orders with them so far.

One good thing about their socks is their length so you get a decent fold over the flashes whilst maintaining the "three finger rule" Some other hose I tried from elsewhere were a little short in this department.

I'm sure you will be happy with them!

Very many thanks for the link and the info, Trefor. I have ordered two pairs but what a pity that they only carry five, very ordinary colours, whilst Matt carries sixteen rather exciting colours over in the USA! I might 'phone them to see if they can get hold of a few more - even if to special order.

Anyway, I greatly appreciate your trouble - Thanks.
