I had written a long response then lost it by navigating away, stupidly!
Thanks to all for the warm welcome - Michael, I checked the woundedwarrior site; those folks are doing good work. Thanks for passing it along; I'll share it with my brother, who volunteers near Denver teaching amputees and para/quadraplegics to ski.
BMackay, the Mackay is on my father's mother's side - close enough, I say! I've named my music publishing company (I do a little songwriting) manuforti as well. Nice to meet you.
And I'll quickly tell a story of my brother's wedding - his wife-to-be was not too keen on the idea of a kilted wedding, being somewhat unfamiliar with that manliest of garments and how stunning they can be. So my brother settled on a compromise - tuxedo for the wedding, kilts (black tie, PC jacket) for the reception. (Of course, our Scottish blood rebelled at the thought of double the rental fees, but in the name of familial harmony we had no choice...) Upon arrival at the reception hall, the groom and his men disappeared (some changing in the parking lot between some strategically placed cars - al fresco!) to re-appear in kilted splendor. Upon seeing the dazzling array of kilted manliness, the bride was heard to exclaim to her new husband - "Why didn't you wear these to the wedding - these are fantastic! You should have worn these to the wedding!"
That is all.
Doug
