I know. The only people who have that name were born in the 1980s... or the 1880s. I totally hate my name.
I have always liked that name actually... Or any name with a Z or an X.
At least your name is decidedly masculine.

I suppose that's true. I still don't like it, but I don't plan on changing it. Its been my name for 21 years, for better or worse.
I just wish my mom had named me Zachariah like she had planned, then I could pretend to be a hutterite. I've already got the beard!

Actually Dread, I have a male cousin with that name. I always thought it was pretty darn cool.

There has got to be a story there that would make an interesting read...

To get back to the original post, I have the same problem whenever I try to call one of my hiking friends. Usually I have them listed in my phone under their hiking name, but sometimes it's under their usual name. So I get all confused. Am I looking for MoonPie or Katherine? Sugar Daddy or Brenden? Even worse now, because I know two people named MoonPie (Katherine and Claire) and two people named Sugar Daddy (Brenden and Vic). I'm usually okay about translating the names in my head, though. My friend Tree calls me and says, "This is Melissa," and I understand completely, even though when I call her, I know her name is listed under T.
Andrew (also in hikers' phone books as Haiku).

Hey Dread, I don't think it's a bad name but I can see your point. I'm Christopher Kelly - thus two first names - one boy's and one girl's (for the most part). I also had a classmate named William Christopher. I can't tell you how many times teachers and substitutes would call out our names backwards. Then I always had the problem of being Chris and having female "Chris's" in the class. And I don't even want to mention what a name like Chris or Kelly can do to juvenile rhyming taunts.
Keep up the good fight and be proud of who you are.
