    Blu makes a good point - whether we approve or not, everyone (well, most of us, meaning those of us in our majority and legally able to make our own decisions) has the right to dress as they choose, and can only say, "That's not for me!" (however you care to phrase it) or, "I think this would work better..." I am unable to see where I have any room to talk about another's appearance, unless someone is willing to make a personal attack on my choice of appearance - in which case I have the right of re"butt"al, as it were - my latest tat is what I'm referring to here, lips on my left buttock for the fashionistas and/or homophobes I run into when feeling brave enough to retaliate against the small-minded in that manner. For whatever it's worth...

    If you don't like the clothes - then say so.

    But I suggest keeping the giggly aspersions to thyself.

    What say, people??

    I am with you 100% there, Blu. Thank you for making your statement when you did.

Facts are facts. Those models are not projecting masculinity, which was the point. Some of us think that men's fashions should project masculinity. I mean, I've got some friends who are full on flaming twinks that would say that the look those models are projecting is just to girlie.
    Since you are speaking your mind, Erisianmonkey, I will speak mine.

    I have no connections with the fashion industry but I really do not think it tries to cast doubt upon your masculinity for wearing a kilt! It is the ignorant unwashed members of the general public who might do that.

    Also, I take exception to your use of the derogatory expression "flaming twinks" in your last sentence. In this day and age the use of such is nothing but insulting and I would ask you to remember that this is a public forum to which members' children have access.

    OK, rant over!

    Well said. The next time someone makes a derogatory comment about my kilt-wearing, I'll provide them the above link as something they might prefer to see men wearing.

    I have to agree with you on this.
    When did 'Style' come to mean 'Look like a female android?'

    <soapbox>

    We're all entitled to our own opinions, and our own senses of style, and we're also entitled to express those opinions and styles, but...

    We should also remember there are things called "manners" and "respect." Just because you MAY speak your mind freely doesn't mean you MUST or even should.

    I'm not saying there's nothing worth speaking out about - there are certainly issues that rile me and I'll defend to the death (of electrons, anyway). But perhaps if we stop and think before we "Post Quick Reply" we can avoid some of these "oh yeah? so's your old man!" things we get into at times.

    Though the style of clothing is not for me and I perfer my kilt over wearing pants, I would like to point out that the fashion shown follows the current trend in men's clothing and many people I know wear similar fashions and it suits them fine as long as they stay away from the makeup. But the other thing to consider that may lead to the female appearance of these young models is their lack of weight that the industry demands.

    but let the men be themselves and I will remain as I am, a proud Homosapian Ogreis
