If I don't wind up going to Vancouver, BC for a BBQ/Costume party on the 27th, I will be kilted. Otherwise, I'll be in a pair of Levi's 550's... :-)

There has been a lot of talk about there being a Global Kilt Night scheduled for 27th October but, as far as I can see, "Global" here seems to mean 'North American' - or have I got it wrong?
I know I have come late to this topic but it appears that there are no Global Kilt Nights planned for Europe (except in Dumfries, for sure!). I should like to propose one for West Sussex, here in England but I would be wasting my time since I am the only kilt-wearer I know of in this area -and I do not visit pubs on my own! Maybe I'll just have a wee glass of something here at home instead.

Hamish.....I had hoped that a good munber of us could do the World wide thing on the 27th. You hare the first one to show any interest from the other side of the "pond". Maybe we should start over with a January of February date and really get the ball rolling. We will hoist a glass in your honor along with the rest of the xmarks members in the UK and on the continent. Thank You. Frank McGrath

I know a number of the Nor Cal Rabble will be gathered together on Saturday January 26th for a Burns' Night Supper. I imagine there might be a few other X Markers doing the same that day. At our Burns' Night Supper last year we raised our glasses and toasted the health of all the members of our forum.
Cheers

30 odd years ago I was just down the road, but you wouldn't take a 10 year old into the local for a pint! A shandy maybe and a packet of crisps (fish & chip flavour please).
Dear God Man! Is your smiley drinking Tobasco sauce?

Hi Grant,
30-odd years ago I do not think a 10 year old would not have been allowed inside a pub, unless it provided a Family Room (and most did not!).
How well I remember being made to stand outside in my short trousers, even in winter, clutching a glass of lemonade and a packet of Smith's Crisps, whilst my parents popped inside for a quick 'half' and a glass of sherry. But wait! That was 60 years ago, not 30!!!
Tabasco sauce? No, that's me with neat whisky!!

OK all you Europeans... get with the program! It would be a shame to have the North Americans outnumber the Europeans on Global Kilt Night!!

Is anyone in the Ottawa, Ontario area planning something for this? I'll take any excuse I can get for a glass of beer and some pub food.
