I exchanged all the fall/Thanksgiving decor on Black Friday while the Mrs. did the whole start at 3AM until you drop (8PM) shopping thing.
Already no room to walk in the living room with all the gifts and my son has just asked for another gift. He wants a kilt (his first) and pointed out that he really likes a Campbell tartan. YAY!

One of my favourite displays I have seen is a lighted lawn deer gutted and hanging from a tree.
I just love both of those ideas! The first is labor intensive, but could be done with almost any holiday - Easter lights, 4th of July, Labor Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc etc etc - although choosing what color to change the light to would be interesting.
The second idea, I REALLY like. I have one of those wire frame deer thingies, that could be re-bent and displayed very easily...... of course the wife may have something to say on the matter.......

Too bad for all you guys. As a single guy who normally spends Christmas away from the house, I generally don't put up any decorations. Okay, if I'm really feeling in the spirit, I'll put a wreath on the door. I am working on recording some Christmas songs this year (strictly amateur, I do stuff like this for the folks instead of trying to find a present).
When I was growing up, we never put up our tree until the weekend after my Mom's birthday on the 15th. Then she was always ready to take it down on the 26th, since Christmas was over.
I guess we always focused more of our efforts on baking all the goodies and didn't put much effort in the decorations.
