Here's one I have that works great. The strap just goes around your belt. Swiss Army model, a bit pricey but very good.

I've had a couple pocket watches, and I often think of getting another to carry. But I can't imagine carrying or wearing a Quartz watch.

Is there something anti-kilt in a Quartz watch? If it gives accurate time, is it wrong?

I seem to be missing something here.

OK - I don't own one - I wear a Seiko ProDive Automatic that I got in 1971, it's been re-furbished once, new face, new band, buffed to a new gleam. I like it.

But really, what's wrong with a quartz watch?

Nothing wrong with a quartz watch per se, just not for me. I prefer mechanical watches. Quartz watches, to me, just seem like soulless devices devoid of character or personality. Like a Japanese car or an electric lawn mower. Perfectly good at their intended purpose, just lacking the charm and warmth of a finely tuned mechanical instrument.

    Something nice for watches

This is something I found here in France.

You hang it on a belt.

    Nice result !

A pouch for my watch, I carry it on my belt.

    The Pocket Watch

You might consider either a leather handcuff case (try Bianchi or Safariland) or a watch pocket stitched to the inside of the flap of you kilt. Regardless, the pocket watch is the hallmark of the Scottish Gentleman-- well done, Laddie.

Everytime I look at this thread, I think of attaching one end of the pocket watch chain at the waist and then letting the pocket watch dangle down inside the kilt.

Then when someone asks the time, you reach down raise the hem slightly, grasp the watch and look at the time.

Sorry, but the mental image sticks in my head of the possible reactions to a simple question of "What time is it?"

That would also answer "the question"

What do you wear under a kilt?

If you really want to know, I've got the time.
