I noticed you bought a 38. I'm curious as to how you find the fit. If you don't mind can I ask your actual waist measurement and how the kilt fits. Are the buckles on the smallest or largest hole (or somewhere in between)? Also how is the rise compared to your other traditional kilts?
Hurry up get those pics of you in the kilt posted.
My actual waist measurement as measured at St Kilda last October is 38.5" and being off the peg and the next size up being 40" I opted for the 38". The kilt fits very well and the left buckle is on the second hole from the outward end - I can still get my hand inside if I need to so could tighten it another notch. The 24" length puts the rise slightly above the navel and my other kilts (some 24" some 23.5") produce the same variation. I tried to get some shots using my tripod but wasn't happy with the results from the flash lighting and I had put my belt on askew! Hopefully get some better pics tomorrow!

I don't see that tartan in Locharron's line-up, but I always have at House of Edgar.
Maybe they don't know their details well?
.
Anyway, glad to see you got your kilt so fast McClef.
Looking for pictures of you wearing it soon!
Well we know the tartan isn't really a MacMillan! Perhaps I should ask them who the weaver was. The weight appears to be 13 or 14 oz.
But certainly I cannot knock the quality nor the speed of the service!
Hopefully pictures of me in it in the morning!

The weather was too atrocious for outdoor shots and then there was the Rugby (an excellent win for Wales!) so hopefully some photos tomorrow.
I have been wearing the kilt all day and am still comfortable!

At last! Pictures of me wearing it! Finally some dry weather and sunshine. These were taken using my tripod and the camera self-timer.
Firstly a frontal shot wearing a body warmer.

Then I braved the wind and took the body warmer off.

And just to show the pleats out of the wind - here is an indoor shot I took when I first put it on.
