Hmmm, are those values set down in writing anywhere?

Of course, it all depends on how much of a pain you want to be over the issue (without seeming to be a pain, of course).

They are not written down, but I'll let the issue be for now. I'll use it to my advantage when I see fit.

It really does bite the big one though, I would prefer to be kilted at work. That would at least provide more ammo to my CFO that I need more kilts!

LOL well as a summer resident of Rock Hill, SC (stayed with my grandmother who lived there during summer breaks during my childhood) I'm kinda not surprised...last time I was there it still had very small town values nd issues and didn't seem to be that open minded....then again it's been a while since I was in town....

The funny thing is I work in Charlotte, but when I wear my kilt in Rock Hill (where I live) I get nothing but compliments.

LOL wow...things definitely have changed when I was last there. My grandmother was the type who refused to let me wear one shirt AT ALL becuase it was "winter colors" and it was the summer.

I wear my contemporary tartan to work occasionally. I work at the university I attend, so I tend to get more comments from students than I do from coworkers. Unfortunately, my so-called peers are mostly ignorant jerks, so I get comments like "nice skirt f**" or what a f****** ho**." I HAVE to get out soon!

Sorry to hear that you're having that problem! Where upstate are you?

A student in Buffalo used to post on here about his experience being kilted fulltime (I believe). He also worked on his campus.

Without going into what I do exactly for my bank, I will be making a call at the Bank of Scotland Houston Representative Office next Monday. I think I will phone in advance to ask if I can wear my kilt.

Am I so used to wearing the kilt that I am getting immune to compliments from both sexes. Can other working kilt wearers give me the benefit of their experience?
It's usually been fine for me after the first few days. They got used to the idea that I wore a kilt regularly and stopped asking silly questions.
It just became one of those things.

    Galacian,

I'm at Albany State... we have a surprisingly close-minded campus... we have quite a few students from downstate, who, amazingly, are the most offensive. Seriously, not cool. I would figure that kids from the city would be exposed to a lot of stuff and not be shocked anymore, but I guess I'm wrong. Ironically, the people who say stuff are the guys who go to class wearing north face jackets with no shirt on underneath, gold chains, and sport the "blowout" and sometimes-creepy, super-skinny chinstrap beard.
