Well, It's still snowing on the mountain tops here, all around our house.
We are at 3600 feet altitude.

I made some fire today on the request of Lady Chrystel.

Needless to say it never really gets hot here. A bit like Scotland, without the rain.

If I ever came to visit some of you in the warmer climates, I think I would enjoy wearing Ancient Roman like sandals, with straps up to the knees.

Anyone of the Rabble have these ? Panache, I'm sure You do

For Houston, it's not just the heat, it's the humidity, too.

The few times I've worn my kilt so far I've just worn my Nike running shoes with it and a polo.

I'll put in my plug for wool socks again. Wool wicks moisture (sweat) away from yer feet, cotton holds it there. Basically, dry feet are comfortable feet while damp feet make a better place for bacteria and other small things to grow. Further, you're less likely to have yer shoe rub against yer foot if a dry foot is inside a wool sock: cotton gets damp and sticks and transfers the friction through to yer foot. Cool-max is an attempt to create a synthetic wool in order to get all of the benefits without the use of sheep.

So I'll always go with wool even in the heat.
