Well it may please you and Jock Scot that my lovely Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess asked me if I would like a new deerstalker hat in brown tones for Valentines' Day.
I am a very, very lucky man!
Cheers

From the earlobes down, you're the picture of kilted gentry.
From the waist up, you remind me of a gentleman from a 30's or 40's movie.
But the overlap ... the hat with everything else ... just seems a little off to me.
If the jacket was tweed, there were more earth tones in the outfit ... I would go with a flat cap.
(I could have sworn I hit submit when I typed this yesterday.)

Deerstalker's a good hat.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

As always, looks great, Jamie! And Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess did a super job on the jacket!

Yes, it's the right thing to do.
Deerstalker will work fine for the sun.

If I may say so, you are indeed a lucky man to have a lady that has the fashion knowledge and also has the perception of what is and what is not worn with the kilt. I cannot wait to hear that THAT hat has been deposed by the new bonnet!

Jamie,
Getting a new hat......good thing, getting a deerstalker even better!
HOWEVER I like your tweed bucket hat quite well as it is "improper" though it may be. You carry the look off with dash and if I may say so a certain panache. The correct response to those who wish to disparage your hat is "If you don't like my hat you may close your eyes"! ith:

A well thought out ensemble and well done,Jaime. Where did you go for a walk? Neighborhood, along the sea, out to the woods, or just anywhere you found yourself headed? Sometimes the unplanned trip offers the most adventure.

I'm glad to hear it, too, Jamie. The one you're wearing makes you look a bit like a Scottish gangster.
