Yeah, nothing wrong at all with kilt-appreciating Jewish women. Just remember, if it ever gets serious, there IS a Jewish tartan...

(And a mighty nice tartan it is, too, might I add)

My wife was at work, so I tidied up the house and did a bunch of prep for dinner, including making a double chocolate malted tart for dessert. I wasn't kilted, but I did find a little time to sew on my first x-kilt. (Pictures to come soon.) When she got home, we cooked dinner together: salmon marinated in honey, soy sauce, and grated fresh ginger, sweet pea and scallion risotto, and roasted brussels sprouts. I shook us up some blueberry pomegranate martinis to drink. It was a great, quiet valentines day at home.

Started out in the UK that morning with a pulaski trying to free my in-laws driveway from the foot thick ice that has made it impossible to get into or out of the garage withought bottoming out the car. However, after receiving several ice shards to the groin area, I thought better of it and went inside and donned the dreaded Trousers!

Had a busy V-day. Did the dinner thing earlier in the week to avoid the crowd. Woke up, spend a quality morning with the Fiancee including putting the finishing touches on her "not a Valentine's Day Mix CD" (a tradition going back 3 years when she told me we weren't dating, even though we were constantly flying back and forth from Little Rock to St. Louis every weekend), then went to the jewelry store to design her wedding ring (Claddagh in white/yellow gold, using a diamond her dad gave her when she was 17 in the center surrounded by green garnet (rather than emeralds because she is rather rammy, as her broken pinky toe can attest to.), then went shopping at Costco (Romantic, I know) before returning home to a dinner of Teryaki London Broil and Rice, prepared by me. Watched the rest of the Hunt for Red October, and she gave me her present, a book about love with pictures of animals (not sure of the title, its the same guy that wrote the blue day book.) Did I mention that I'm getting married to the most laid back bride in the history of the world?

I spent my V-Day doing a ride along with the Seattle PD in the West Seattle area. We responded CODE 3 to a traffic accident and had a few other interesting encounters during my eight hours and even managed to take a guy with a 4K warrant to the King County Jail.
No kilt for me.
