Ok lets stop the bickering. I started this thread looking for a place to buy a shirt and it ended up as a bashing thread. Enough is enough. This thread has gotten WAY of topic.

Off Topic is what this thread is about, but it has been very interesting and informative nevertheless. I commend you, sir, for bringing it up and taking all of this new (perhaps sometimes critical) information in stride. Thanks as well to all those members who have shared their amazing wealth of knowledge to the enlightenment of all the rest of us.

The only reason I wanted to put the brakes on this thread was because it seemed to become very heated at time. FYI: I am in the process of actually tracking my heritage. I know I'm not nearly as Irish as I look but There is a bit in me.

I'm of German, English, Dutch, Irish, Welsh, and Native American decent.

D'you mean to say that it was only 90 degrees? Gosh, I'm sorry I had to miss it. Actually I was already sorry, I had a wonderful time there in 2007.

I like your tat' and for me it was a non-issue. Now, about Greenville SC only being a one day games:

The games are held on the grounds of Fermin College, which is a Presbyterian college with an emphasis on studies for those preparing to enter the ministry. That said, the college administrators took the decision not to disrupt on-campus worship services on Sunday by hosting the games on two days. This is a decision that all involved in putting on the games respect. Unlike most other one-day games, the Greenville Games kick off on Friday night, with a parade down main street, followed by whisky tastings at a local restaurant and a great ceoli featuring top celtic rock bands. Greenville Rocks!

As for heraldry in the US you need to look closely at US Army uniforms. The Army has a heraldry department and each army solider wears at least two heraldry devices. On the left shoulder (closest to the heart) is the Corp or divisional unit insignia. On the Epaulettes is the regimental Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI). If the person was in a unit in a combat zone for over 6 months(?) they wear the combat divisional unit insignia on their right shoulder. I am not sure under the changing uniform regs how or where these insignia are worn.

The DUI for the 4th Field Artillery contains military heraldry symbols for their service in Mexico, Philippines, and for their stand at Gettysburg at the point of Picket's charge.

Actually, there are two different insignia.

The Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn on the epaulettes.
The Regimental Distinctive Insignia is worn on the right breast above the nameplate and unit awards.
