I survived the trip north with two giant Ikea bookcases. one is built already to.

Nice to actually meet some rabble, the two prom girls were fun, I got my soda for free (power of the kilt) learned how to test Guinness with a coin, and rebuilt my sporran straps twice. And everyone tolerated my habit of talking too much.

I am planning on a trip this month to Ohio to visit my father in Martins Ferry, North of Cincinnati, I will firm up the dates later. May be able to meet up with some of you Rabble while there.

I hope Mike doesn't mind my posting his photo - I left my camera sitting on the kitchen counter!

Apparently I missed the memo on the dark shirt dress code!

In attendance were my bud, Ken; Trevelyen of Cornwall by way of St. Paris, Ohio, a new member of BotK; myself; the amazing photographer Billy Crafton in an awesome leather Union Kilt; Mike in Dayton; and Sathor of Piqua by way of Ikea.

The conversation ranged from geocaching, to photography, to how to test for Guinness drinkability, bands, family histories, friends in kilts, tartans, and New World Celts. I had a great time and enjoyed everyone's company considerably.

Claddagh was very accommodating. We were there from about 6:45 to 9:00 or so. The wait staff, management and chef were all very attentive. The food was decent and in at least one case "a taste of home."

Nearby was a group of young things enjoying some sort of after-prom thing. I caught one of the gals in a bright pink frock trying to take our photo on the sly, and she turned the color of the frock. The waiter said she was trying to get a shot of my 'stache, but I can't imagine what's so interesting about that. I think it was the kilts.

Thanks again, Mike, for organizing it!

    Regards,
    Rex.

A few people were not on Xmarks.

I didn't get a group pic, its a long story from growing up, and my camera isn't all that good. I might be able to copy the image from facebook, but doing that would make me a bit nervous.

I think I annoyed the head chef, said I couldn't taste any fire in the chicken, not that I knew there would be any in it, but he seemed to accept my response about keeping Ghost Pepper hot sauce in my son's diaper bag. Told me to tell him next time and they can spice it up a bit more for me. I did seem to get an interesting sound out of a lady in front of me in line to get in (I was an hour early, the line was gone before the others showed up.) I think another person posted about the two pre-prom girls that tried to covertly take a flash photo, we all assume of Rex's mustache, since seated as we were, the kilts could not have been that visible. My check was fair, I had sat at the bar for about 45 minutes before the others showed up, but they didn't transfer my drink charge to the table when we moved over there, the waiter told me not to worry about it.

And the others didn't show irritation with me, which can happen because I am told I talk way too much and interrupt a lot.

Next time. You know, I don't think we bothered to work out the details for the next one. IE, when/how often, where, etc.
