I was burgled today.

Thieves - call them what you will -, I have to contend with them daily in the store where I work. Personally, I'd rather lose something than have it stolen. My friend has been burgled twice. Hope normality returns to your household soon.

Getting the police to do anything is impressive, maybe the blood was a motivator. My bicycle was stolen last month from a locked room in a church, officer was all non-chalant about it till he realized where it was stolen from and that it was worth 4 grand. Then he started making calls and having people check the local pawn shops.

Maybe they'll get a dose of what they have done to you one day-or get arrested for it-we can only hope!

Oh, at least your PD made an effort.

In my case, I was told by the responding officer that someone from their investigations unit would follow up. So I left things where they were for a couple of days. But then I realized that no one was coming. A few weeks later, I got a postcard stating that they couldn't find any leads and the case was closed.

Geesh!

Still better than my case. About 6 or 7 months after the breakin, I got a call from a detective at my local PD, asking me if I had recovered my property. He got a bit angry when I replied, "I was under the impression that that was your job". Then when I told him that my insurance had paid off my claim and I had replaced some of what was taken, he said,"you shouldn't have done that."
