Aside with manacle falling out of eye: What the devil is this place coming to...?
Just teasin' Hamish; feelin' a bit silly here tonight I guess...
Aye,
Wesley
PS: hope that wasn't too forward, as I just thought you probably have no idea who I am, while your celebrity here on the boards, on the other hand, lured me into a feeling of familiarity. Certainly all in fond regard at any rate!
Oh, tease away to your heart's content, Wesley, and be as silly as you like - I claim that it's my silliness that keeps me sane! Forward? No way! Of course, one would expect you to behave with a little more respect were we to meet face to face, but here on the forum one has to put all that aside ........... unless we are both dressed formally at the time we exchange messages. Then a whole different form of etiquette comes into play - but, since it rarely happens, I'll not go into the details now.
You are quite correct though: I do not have any idea who you are! I'll have one of my people look up your profile (if you'll pardon the expression?!) Yes, strangers often feel familiar towards me, so please do not be concerned if you are helplessly drawn in similar manner - and your fond regards are greatly appreciated. In fact, if I knew who you are, I might be tempted to reciprocate.
You are correct again! I regret I do not have a kilt in the Cunningham tartan, but I have a massive fondness for weathered colours and it is for that reason that I am so taken with Alex's gorgeous new kilt.
Finally, it must be a huge relief to you to have lost the "manacle" from your eye - I can think of nothing that could be more painful especially if there was a wrist still attached to it. I will not ask how it got there in the first place - we all have different ways of enjoying ourselves and it is not for others to question what we get up to in the privacy of our homes!
.............................oh, very well then: your fond regards are reciprocated.
Take care,
Ham.

It's all fun and games til someone gets a manacle in the eye...
Hamish,
I had a hunch yours was a good sense of humour! Sometimes my cutting up tends to be mistranslated when done via the interweb, so I try and make sure there's always a disclaimer. I'm sure in person we would get on splendidly, no disclaimers needed. Now that spell check has also failed me- nothing worse than your joke being spoiled by misspelling, and then turned on you (touché, sir)- I'll have to do double duty when trying to be entertaining. Och, weeell...
At any rate, I agree with you that the weathered colours are very handsome. I love my weathered MacGregor, and each of my future planned purchases are in the weathered tartans... Alex has indeed done well by it, too!
Now to figure out what to do with this manacle now that I finally got it outa my eye...
Regards aye,
Wesley
