You have my deepest sympathies. Losing a family member is always so terribly hard.
My mother-in-law's six year old cat was just diagnosed with feline AIDS and she is currently deciding what to do.
Be well.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Having been through it several times I know how difficult it can be.

A little update for everyone...
We took Lincoln's remains to the vet to day to have him cremated. They had a nice urn in similar colours to his fur that we've picked out. He'll have a special place in our home once again.
Each day has been a little easier. You kindness and thoughtful words have brought much comfort to me and Karen, and we thank everyone again for that.
For all you pet owners on Xmarks, please give your babies a hug and pat from us.
