Wouldn't the easiest way to get a kilt be to enlist? ;-)

That'd be news to Tartan Hiker & other members of this forum!
Hmm. Yup. News to me too.

I guess I'm just weird that way. Maybe I should dress more normally. Like my friend. He hikes in a sarong.

Actually, the kilts aren't Crown assets. They're NPF purchases done through usually some sort of combination of Regimental Association funds and CO's discretionary funds. They do not belong to the Crown. They do not belong to the Department of National Defence. They belong to the Regiment itself.

Now, that is true, so brace for that possibility, but you'll never know, unless you ask.

...Cpt. (note: actually, in the Canadian Forces the rank is abbreviated as "Capt") Elliott MacDonald GGFG... and he replies;... The NS Highlanders is a waste of your time...
Meh, he's probably just bitter because he's still looking for a Carl G on the side of the highway somewhere...

The kilts are most likely handled through the regimental society and while they may not be willing to sell one out of stores, they should be happy to refer you to thier kilt maker who I would think would be happy to make one for you.
