    Greetings,

I saw this tartan on the news and the guy said it was done in haste as the weaving/tartan industry was suffering cause of the recession, and they did it to keep the mill going, they did it of there own accord, it was not commissioned by any Royal (but then again I could be mistaken).

    All the best,

    Graham

Another note: as far as I am aware it hasn't been registered yet, I think its more a commerical than a commerotive tartan.

Why is it inappropriate for a wedding?

Black is traditional for men's formal wear.

White is the traditional color for the bride.

Blue is the only color mentioned in the rhyme about what a bride should wear for luck.

Now as said before, as it's not an "official" tartan, I don't see why not make another understated plaid. I own a few black PV kilts, just so when I don't want to wear a lot of flashy colors. I'd definitely buy a kilt in this plaid.

When I looked at the first picture I thought it was a fairly understated tartan and thought little more. The next set of pictures makes it seem more interesting. Then I thought: If that was pleated to the blue stripe, it would look great! So I've changed my mind to "I like it" although I'm not sure "young, understated and strong" works for me.

Just had another look and pleating to the white stripe could work too. I think.
