At the moment, I find them a bit "too much" for me, mainly for this same reason. But I do like the look when others wear them. I'm slowly loosening up. I occasionally look in the mirror and wonder if I'm not overdoing it somehow. Then I say to myself, So what? You are a Grade A specimen of kilted awesomeness, now get out there and be envied and adored.

I have a cantle ready to be put onto a form of long hair sporran, just not sure what I'm leaning towards for the day that I am ready to strap it on.

Yep. I've frequently suspected that these flashy, huge, hairy sporrans that come down to the selvage of the kilt, along with the full mask deals w/bottom jaw and snarling teeth, were often an attempt at some kind of... compensation.

In that spirit, I tend to go the opposite direction with something more like this:

Unfortunately, there's more room in those d@mned hair sporrans than there is in our signature space.

    Otherwise, that quote is epic.

I was looking at those this afternoon. How stiff is it? I have aproblem with mine rubbing the front of my legs - not very comfortable. Is there much space in it?

I have a feeling that you weren't looking at one quite like this (unless you were looking at pictures of this particular one, that is), as it's one of a kind (at least, to my knowledge); this is the Artificer 12MK2, known as the Lugosi.

This one broke in rather like a baseball glove, and has plenty enough room to fit even my HUGE wallet. I'd reccomend one of these every day of the week, and twice on Sunday, Father.

Here's the full review (worth a read, I think):

Probably a bit steep for what I want to do, but absolutely beautiful! Thanks!
