Re: An Open Letter to Jock Scot
sorry to hear that Jock has left us, but it is understandable. The only thing that I personally disagreed with Jock was on descendants wearing the Kilt outside Scotland , The rest , I think He is bang on. The world of xmts will be glum without his opinion and comments. Preaning Peacocks or Jock, give me Jock!Come on back pal.

I agree with others here. I do not agree with him 100% of the time (maybe not even 75%), but I respect his opinions. I lift a glass of Ardbeg to you, Jock.
Agreed. Come down from the hills, Jock, it's been far too long of an absence old boy.![Very Happy](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
Surely he didn't leave us for good?
Cheers,

This proved to be rather effective. Within a short time, whenever he was confrontational, I would ask "Do you want to hear the answer?". Oft times, when he hadn't yet made up his own mind and was still gathering opinions, he would say yes.
But there were times, when he would look me square in the eye and say No. That would be the end of it, no further discussion.
I truly do not know what the answer is. We need discussion and discourse to make this board and every other board work. But I do know that 'entrapment' is not the way forward.

Well said, Chas!

I value Jock Scot's opinion more than all others (although I like my button-down collars!). I hope he returns and soon.

Seriously, fellas? You think that old curmudgeon, Jock Scott would be so insulted over that tête-à-tête with Father Bill, he would jettison his many friends here? ![Ciao](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/ciao.gif)
I am sure he is having a good laugh over all this fuss.
When he his sides stops aching, he be posting again when he has something important to share with us. :buttkick:

I think you're right, Mael.
I recently read an old post on here where Jock told the story of a bad period of time that he went through and how a lot of people on XMarks helped him through it. He won't forget that.

Again, I just like the guy, whether I agree with him all the time or not. Jock is an asset to the Xmts community, he knows a lot, is honest with what he says and generally....IMHO... the world needs more guys like Jock.
I look forward to reading your words again soon, mate.

I know I'm not one of the old-timer's around here, but I think Jock is a pretty stand-up guy and I look forward to his return.

My wife has been grieving the cancellation of her favorite soap opera. I'm going to suggest that she start reading XMarks.

I would have to concur, scots are thick-skinned. As are the gentlemen of xmarks.
