Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

The "Y" and "Exposure" answers are pretty much my standard's now.
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

Whilst I never really think about it, the subject came up in an oblique and perfectly natural way over lunch today, where someone asked if we (the males) were "donning" our kilts for a forthcoming event. Standard practice to find out who is doing what at a special and unusual event. I think we over here would all know exactly what was meant in "donning" the kilt and " to don" the kilt.

After wearing a kilt to work for several years now, nobody seems to notice any more. Me wearing a kilt is no different than me riding my bicycle to work. Everyone thinks it is normal. Regardless of whether I wear a kilt or p@#$%s, I wear proper biking attire (helmet, safety vest, etc.) on my ride and change when I get there.

I like to say it's a kilted hike. Also I keep track of the number of miles hiked and call them "K miles" on the log.

So... I was walking into our dojo the other day, and one of the parents of a new student saw me in my green Amerikilt. I have 2 AK, which are what I wear for work, and I head to the dojo right from the shop, so I'm always kilted before I have a chance to change for class. The mother of this student stopped in her tracks and, with some surprised, asked "What's with the kilt?" I was a little confused and had to take a moment to process the question. I have been wearing them for so long and with such regularity (meaning every day of my life for many years now) that I totally forgot I had it on.

So what do I call wearing a kilt? I call it getting dressed...

Kilting for me. And not often enough, work requires a uniform. We had one of the admin types come in in a kilt and they sent him home to change into "more professional attire". I wear 5.11 pants at work, but I have a 5.11 kilt. HMMM
