SPLENDID suggestion for a bit of cinema on the Sokieski-Stuart brothers!

BBC has done excellent pieces on other demi-obscure UK subjects.

'Would recommend the "History Channel" do one but likely they will not be interested until someone establishes a connection between the S-S brothers and H*tler.

Oh, wait, "Sobieski-Stuart" and Schutz Staffel are both "SS"! Now it can also be a conspiracy!

Reminds me of the person who in a brusque, rude tone asked (demanded, really) "I don't recognize that tartan - where are you from?" I was in my USAK Casual Leatherneck, btw. "Weehawken", I replied - the town of my birth in New Jersey. "That's in the Highlands, I presume?" he barked. "Of course, right on top of the palisades." I said. He nodded, apparently satisfied, and walked off. The Palisades, btw, are the New Jersey bluffs above the Hudson river, facing New York.
I thought Michele would hurt herself she was laughing so hard.

Has to be one of the silliest things I have yet to hear.

He probably heard it as "Wee Hawken" -- sounds Scottish enough!

There is a fine point here as I am pretty sure Rocky registers all his designer tartans with the Tartan Authority. It's as good as a copyright here. Thus all USAK tartans are all officially tartans not just "plaids".

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Wow, I'm impressed that he 'didn't recognize the tartan' Wow, so he knows 'every single tartan there is' I take it. Impressive...... LOL

Loved your obviously cool, calm and confident reply. ;)

International conventions require copyright to be an automatic right not requiring registration to exist. US law requires registration before you can sue, so you have to register the day before you file suit!

... and plaid is gaelic for blanket, although apparently in the US it has come to mean what we would call a 'check' on the other side of the pond, i.e. any chequered pattern.

ETA: And the ones we write are called checques, not checks
