OK, the bed must be the one slept in by Prince Charlie during the "45," so I`m guessing that the plaid may have been worn by him as well?

I'm not sure about the bed. PCE may well have slept in it, no doubt Rex will know. The plaid he certainly didn't wear. How can I be so sure? What sort of (whose) cloth does it look like?

The bed was certainly in the 'best' room in the Moy Hall of the day. The family tradition is that PCE slept in that room prior to the Rout of Moy, after which he was moved away to the west. There are no stories connecting him with this chair that wasn't made until the next century.

Guessing it was from his plaid or garments.

The material doesn't look like wool, so I don't think it's from a laird's plaid. The material reminds me of silk or some other material that would be used in a lady's sash, more than anything else. I'm pretty sure it is Mackintosh tartan, with the green faded to what looks like yellow.

But we've been told that it is, in fact, wool, in spite of the "finer" appearance.
