Casey,
My great grandfather (on my Mother's side) came from Brittany, I too forgot to mention it, so thank you!

Brittany...
Casey,
Many thanks for that link (pity I can't speak Francias though!) -- my wife & I have been looking for a "French" tartan for her, since she is of Louisiana French/Cajun heritage, and this might be another candidate -- love the Breton badge!

I need to go back and fix this but here is a rough translation of the page using PowerTranslator Pro.
===================================

The words that one never finds to speak of the kilt are necessary: Size and Liberty would be a good description. It is well for it that his/her/its port answers a code that one must not betray.
The Bretons in Kilt, an aberration?
Does all person justify his/her/its way to be and to live, from elements of history, of his/her/its legitimate right, of his/her/its adherence to a cultural group, or of the liberty that he grants. is he Also, conceivable for a Breton to wear a Kilt?
If one writes down the people Breton in one page of active determined history of the 18th to the 20th century, then yes, it is maybe a little out of place (but to reduce Brittany to that, the is also!). On the other hand if one writes down the Nation Breton in an all historic, including his/her/its origin British, and his/her/its relationship with the other Nations Celt, the port of the Kilt becomes natural, and justified.
Therefore one can wear the kilt for all reasons that one wants, but the essential reason, it is will to write down Brittany in his/her/its cultural difference, and to bring closer it again more of the other Celtic nations. To detach the people Breton of a certain shape of internationalization, and to sustain the pole interceltique.
For the Scottish, the port of the kilt answers well today more the idea of Nation Scottish and his/her/its identity, rather than has all historic and romantic histories of the clans (although it is even important, but concerning only the highlands). the Scottish of the "Borderses" would Never have worn a Kilt (reserved use to the savages of the north!!!) without a certain idea of the unit Scottish.
All Celtic Nations make use of the Kilt and with the bagpipe, it is about visible signs common to all. It is probably there the real departure of a community of men meeting, putting the symbols uniting them together... He/it belongs therefore to the Bretons to find in the port of the kilt, a symbol of National unit.
New: the tartan Breton "Brittany Walking"
To wear a kilt, it is a way for a lot of to renew with one past, or the men confounded themselves with the nature, no in a mind of hierarchy but of complementarity. They made body. As we now have in our range a tartan Breton named "Hike Breton" ("Brittany Walking").
It is a tartan to arrange in the category of the "hunting", available in kilt in our on line boutique.
