Went out to one of our local eateries NOT kilted with wife and friends. Was taken aback when the waitress said "What no kilt tonight?" Told her I would wear my kilt next time just for her. Kilts in Mississippi who would-of-a-thunk!

Next time I'm down to Columbia, MS to see my mom, if I think I'll have a chance to run up to the big city, I'll PM you. Maybe we could organize a Mississippi kilted get-together.

For some reason the image upload is not working, so back to Photobucket.

D@mn Dan, short sleeve polo shirt in Williamsburg, today? You're a tough cookie, bro. Mock turtle neck topped with a Peregrine wool sweater with one of Rocky's 5 yarders in weathered Ulster tartan for me today. And I was still cold in the office!

I for one prefer the old ways. But that's just me showing my age. Looking good, friend!

No photos from the day, but it was a kilted Friday for me today. (Actually it was kilted Tuesday too, but there isn't a thread for that. )
Went to school this morning with my Montreat Scottish 4-yard box pleat. Met the wife at Jack of the Wood at 4 to hang out with the western NC archivists group for pints and dinner. Afterwards walked all over downtown Asheville, hit some shops, had coffee and some dessert. Just another splendid day here in AVL.

Kilted to meet up with some current and former co-workers. Lovely to catch up. Overdressed with a wool "commando" jumper and a jacket over that. Turned out warmer and drier than expected.

You are right about the old bit, aside from me, the sporran belonged to my Dad, and probably his Dad before him. I removed the tassles because they were noisy enough to interfere with talking when out walking. Thanks for the complement, though it is not deserved.
