Yet another reason I love this place: Where else do you get a chance to interact with both fellow customers and the owners of such fine kilts and kilt accessories?

Mystery Braid? If you are refer to the one in the link Big Paul provided, that one was made by Freelander. He showed it to me and a few others, right after it was made. I am sure he can provide way more information about it.

Colin, that's what it was called, Mystery Braid. You cut 2 or more slits in the leather strap and through a series of twists and such you get the strands to braid. It's all one piece of leather. Here's how it's done. http://www.rudedogleather.com/classe...y/mystery.html

Bk order.
How prompt are the guys at Buzz Kidder in sending out an order. I bought a Rob Roy sporran a few days ago. PayPal credited my account, but I haven't heard from the guys at BK onb the status of my order. I have emailed them a couple of times without reply and the phone number on their web site seems to go to some other business.
I am not worried, I just want to know the status of my order.

Buzz really does this as a hobby, so he cranks stuff out as fast as he can. His daughter is in charge of taking orders and running that side of things.
He makes them one at a time, a few at a stretch, so it takes a little while.
He also told me his website always says that things are 'in stock', so you can't go by that.
Black sporrans are more common to have around and be made, so if you're like me and ordered brown, it may take a little longer.
I found out that even though there are no email replies and what not, Buzz is on top of things......

I think it is worth mentioning that there are other suppliers of the BK sporrans that do have them in stock and are able to ship. I ordered a BK Rob Roy from Matt, late Monday afternoon and it was shipped yesterday.
I believe Rocky at USA is keeping them on hand as well.
It's been a good week, thus far. I ordered the BK on Monday, a braided strap from Robert at R Kilts yesterday morning and a new Freelander, with braided strap, yesterday afternoon.
I'm just trying to do my part for the world economy. Do you see anything else that needs to be purchased, before I come to my senses?

I spoke to Rocky about them, he only has black. I had already ordered mine directly from BK when I realized Matt carries them.

Yet another testimonial for those considering a BK sporran. I recieved mine a few days ago and now wear it constantly. It is large enough to comfortably hold my wallet, mobile phone and car keys with room to spare. Hell if I filled it up then it would probably be to heavy to wear.
I use Buzz's sporran hangers when I wear it with my UKs. I haven't tried using them with my traditional kilt. I'm afraid that the weight of the sporran would putt my belt down - no loops.
