I prefer darker tartans and for that reason I am all for the first sample. In actuality the woven tartan will probably look even darker if for no other reason than we are looking at projected rather than reflected light. Not to mention tha fact that computer monitors used a RGB color field and the wool will be dyed using "spot colors".
If anyone is truely interested in the different ways a person perceives color -- then look it up yourself. I'm not going to explain it here.l
It seems to have more in it, for the eye and I think it would last, in terms of taste, more than the first one. (the example being one of our kin felt No2 was growing on him, and I think long term that it may come out as the fave.)
Give it a week or so, and come back to have another look and see if you feel the same...
The poll so far puts #1 way out in front but I fancy #2. I suspect it will darken in reality and be much easer on the eye. I suspect #1 will be to dark.

To be back where the dark Mourne sweeps down to the sea.
I am in favor of #1. I like darker colors better than
lighter (dress) colors. Has anyone made a mock up of
how either would look pleated to the Stripe or Sett?

I like Number 1 more then 2 With that being said if the grey in #2 was a tad darker I would be all over it. I know that it may come out darker once it is woven and all that jazz, BUT at the same time it might come out lighter.... I think I would rather have #1 evn if it came out a little darker or lighter. If #2 were to come out much lighter then I see it one my moniter it would look alot LIKE a dress tartan. I wear way more dark things then light and would not have much use for the lighter tartan i don't think. [/b]
