One thing I've wondered about. Somewhere I can remember seeing ear rings made with a small magnet to hold the ear ring on. I think it was designed so Guys or girls could wear ear rings without piercing their ears. I wonder if a kilt pin could be designed so that it was held on by a magnet on the underside of the apron?

Given the right composition of metals, of course it can. But remember, it would tend to slide, the weight and movement would try to work with gravity.

    Steve,

Are you thinking about setting this up similar to the clan blazer patches with the clasp pins or as a sew-on patch?

I haven't used a Kiltpin in years, I remember losing a few before I found out how to NOT lose them, that gets expensive but again, I haven't used a pin in years unless there was a threat of wind. When I do feel that I need something I use one of the small lapel pins that have Army unit patches enameled on them. I am a verteran so I use one at a time of two combat units I was in, the 1st Infantry Division or the 11th Cavalry. This July there will be a re-union of the 1st Infantry Division in Phoenix Az. and I will of course be using the 1st Inf Div pin wind or no wind. They are not as heavy as a kiltpin but they do serve the purpose.

I was going to try an embroidered patch.

I don't have the time to do lost wax castings.

Steve, I think I'd be interested in a patch. It would look cool on a beret.

I should be able to get the cost down to around $20.00 us per patch.

Steve I would like one of the Xmark patches if you can get it don to that price or lower. If enough of us order would it help.
Will post this on the link....
