I would love to attend something like this. If it comes to pass count me in! I think my wife would really enjoy it too.

Phil, I will selflesly offer to help you out. Just send me a sample of each item you wanted photographed and I will do the rest. Of course, I am not sure when/if I will be able to return the samples... but that is a small price to pay for advertising, right? And I will even work them into an online catalog for you!

I have been away, on vacation. If I can swing this with my work schedule and other commitments, count me in. Mid-July is very busy for me and most people I know. How is the weather in August/September?

I certainly do not mean to trump KCW's kind offer, but I was gonna say the same. I do web-design on the side and am a photographer; so I have all the necessary resources. Geographically I am closer to Phil, so that *might* make shipping faster/cheaper.

(now let's all watch Phil blush as we vie for his attention) ;)

Hmmmmm. I believe you may be right. I'm not sure I have the wherewithal and patience to actually make a kilt but this is certainly starting to sound like a very interesting vacation. Scotland, unfortunately, is out of the question in '06 but a run out to BC might be just the ticket. I was sorely disappointed a few years back when we didn't have enough time in Vancouver (we'd been on a rail cruise through the Rockies) to get over to Victoria. Hmmmmmmm. Wheels turning....airmiles being audited......... 8-)

Hey, Hey now, no piling on with better offers! I saw this bird first... err... that is... I presented Phil with an attractive offer first and I am willing to be gracious and cover shipping for the items. The least I can do to help a friend (who is supplying free, custom made items!).

(Psst. Furrycelt, check your PM's I think we can take him for baubles for both of us if we play this right. Keep up the good work):grin:

How does this sound for all those sewing impaired ones among us...
    Care of kilts and acessories.
    Basic leather work-belts,sporran etc.
    Making flashes.
Basic kilt fashion tips, what goes with what.

Just a few ideas I thought I'd toss out, some have already been mentioned.

Guys, I need some input here for Kilt Kamp.

For Dr. Barb, the best time is the week of 5 June. That is wonderfull kilt wearing time here in Victoria. Thoughts?????

For those of you seriously thinking of attending, what would you like to see and do. I for one, do not feel comfortable teaching a "Make you own Freedom Kilt" class. Without a non-compitition aggrement that would be shooting myself in the foot. I would however be willing to teach a course in contemporary kiltmaking. (What makes a good looking and wearing kilt, What should you look for in a kilt, what to look out for etc.)

I also think it would be neat if the attendees brought as many kilts from as many kiltmakers as is possible. This would give everyone the chance to compare them side-by-side. Perhaps even approach some makers to loan us one of their kilts.(HINT, HINT MATT.)

I would also like everyone to have a chance to do the tourist things that this city is famous for. Our world class Royal BC Museum, the Butchart Gardens, Whale watching, etc.

I would also like to host a dinner and kilt night as part of the course fee. We have some fine restaraunts and some pretty good local celtic bands.

Ideas, ideas, ideas. Throw them into the hat and let's make this THE event of the year.

Let me check my calendar but I like the idea of June. That's usually a slow time for me business wise.
