Guys (and gals) don't stop posting about your new kilts. This place will start to stagnate with no new information. Those of us with minimal $ to add to our Kollections need to know where the good deals are, who makes the best and see the photos of what the rest get to know we are actually getting the best bang for our bucks.
Ham, we're envious of your collection but still want to see the pics and have your great comentaries about the new tartans, kilts etc so that we our fashion mistakes don't become nightmares. I, for one, salute those of you that are able to keep adding to your kollections

Hey guys, You lucky ones that have many of those objects of wish called kilts,... never stop posting here ur new aqquisitions, (specially u, Hamish)
When I posted my 2 cents here, I wanted to say that I just know how I am and how I feel, and of course, I know which is the size of my bank account, and that's the reason I only have one kilt, and the only really important to express on that was that I was proud of having EVEN THAT one and only kilt.
Reading here and seeing all the new photos about you all, kilted legends, helped me in my knowledge about all this, ... in other words,... u pushed my respect and love for this wanderful piece of fabric, to turn it from some kind of excentricity for a spanish guy visiting Glasgow to a real pride.
I respect, admire and need you all here, guys. So never stop provoking my healthy envy, ok?
¡Salud!

well said
I echo Valencian Kilted to a word.
I could spend days asking Hamish, Ron, SoutherBreeze and all the other kilt endowed people questions, and I hope someday to sit down with some of you over a pint and talk about all your kilts. Without the posts and tales of thier kilts I would know very little of leather kilts, Kathy Lare, TFCK. I feel that them talking about thier kollections is less bragging or rubbing anything in and more of an education on kilt makers, styles from all over the world. It helped me learn what I want when I get my first traditional kilt, my first leather kilt etc. Please guys don't stop telling us about new aquisitions, or showing us your kilts from different vendors in different styles.
Thanks

My only kilt is one lonely tank hanging in the closet all by itself, I expect to purchase another one this year, I just have to decide which tartan it will be. My kilt wearing is limited to events like highland games, Burns Suppers,Kirkins' and other events of this type. Wearing the kilt is always an enjoyable experience, I wear my kilt about twelve times a year.
It is great that the others who have large "Kilt Kollections" are willing to share their experiences and knowledge with all of us here on the forum. I have certainly enjoyed reading about all of the different makers and types of kilts that are available out there in the marketplace, and read about all of the "Kilted Adventures" of our other members. I wish I had known what I know now when I purchased my kilt, I would have made a few changes.
I am always happy to hear about the new kilts everyone has ordered and received as well as why they selected a particular tartan. The discussions about the accessories, kilt hose and color coordination have been a tremendous help to me, it's great to have the ability to share information and discuss various ideas with the rest of forum members.

Just to add to the other voices here. I don't want anyone to feel that they shouldn't talk about their kollections or aquisitions, it really is fun to hear about them. I don't feel that anyone is bragging or being rude. I really enjoy reading about it. However, I think the point of this thread was to clarify a how we a board feel about how many kilts one owns (ie its interesting not important) to anyone that might have misunderstood.
To be honest Hammish can keep his kilts, I want his since of style

I would echo djweso thoughts on Hammish's style. You better keep posting those pics or you might see one of us wearing a polka dot shirt with our kilt.

Lol,.. that was good guy, but I thought once about how it would look a torero (bullfighter) jacket combined with a kilt,... if someone does that, be sure that we all know somebody that will jump infront of the PC

Tono, Would it surprise you to know that I HAVE worn a torero's jacket - but not with a kilt! It was with very tight black trousers and heeled black boots. Back in the early 1960s, I studied Flamenco Dance in London and in one of our shows, I wore that exquisitely decorated (and quite heavy) short jacket. Of course, in those days I was but a slender youth - alas no more!!

I'm sure folks understand that I'm not angry with Hamish or Ron for their extensive collections, or annoyed about people sharing their excitement at their new acquisitions. I mean, hey...I just ordered a new kilt pin off of ebay, and three cards of pewter buttons to dress up my $40 Eton jacket and make it look more like a Prince Charlie. I'll be sure to share pics, too.
That's not it.... I just wanted to make sure that the guys who can't afford a lot of kilts, or maybe are saving their pence for that first one...or who can only afford one of those Stillwater Economy models that we all love to get down on, don't feel bad about it.
It's the PERSON that counts...what they say, what they do, and here, where your heart is regarding being kilted, that counts. Carry on, and let the free wind blow!

Well, I wasn’t going to tell anyone this, but in light of this discussion, I will.
I just bought another SportKilt last month! So there!
