to clarify....

the aforementioned footwear metioned in the first post on this thread are NOT boots. They are extra-tall Converse All-Star Sneakers. They were very popular as a baskteball shoe until Nike and Reebok started making shoes specifically for basketball.

You can see a great many skateboarders and what some consider "alternative" or "punk" people wearing thise because they are extremely inexpensive and last a good long time.
