Mine is am ongoing project. It has never been very heavy anyhow. But, ifI do decide to shave anything, it will be this little bit of fuzz I still have left on top of my head.

Mine stays.
Some of us are just butt ugly underneath.
Last time I did shave it off 15 years ago found myself staring into the face of my abusive alcoholic clean-shaven father when I looked in the mirror...grew it right back and its stayed ever since.

I think all the comments of "I did shave and she wanted me to grow it back right away..." prove that, despite what Hollyweird tries to tell us all, women want men to be men and not to look like little boys. Long life the Retrosexual!
I grew a goatee 11 years ago and added the full beard the week my son was born (he's 5 today) and it is not coming off anytime soon.

To me shaving my beard would be like cutting off my arm. In all probabilities is not going to happen.
Another comparison, no beard no Kilt.

I've had my beard since the fall of 1994, so it's been almost 12 years. Of course, I had to keep it shaved off while I was in the Army. After that, I would grow it once in a while then shave it off for some reason.
Every once in a while I will think about shaving off my beard. Then I stop and remember the hassle of shaving all the time and how much it tears up my face. When I shaved, it took about three days for my face to recover properly and by then the whiskers looked like hell.
I also don't particularly want to go through the process of growing out the beard again either. There was a period of about two weeks while it was growing out that I thought it would drive me crazy from the itching.
Pretty much everyone is used to me with the beard now, and some of the people in my life have never seen me without one.

i shave regularly because when I try to grow a beard i end up with noticible patches of red, black, brown, grey, and colorless hairs, it does not look good at all. Also if i try to grow a mustache it is such a pale blonde that you cant see it.
So I stay clean shaven and baby faced.

That's half the fun. My beard is multi-coloured. Dark brown by the 'burns, reddish all the way to the middle and grey in the middle. I wish the lighting was better (this was a few years ago too) but you get the idea

This NYTimes subscription article, Paul Bunyan, Modern-Day Sex Symbol, supports that, though they say surveys find that no more than two or three percent of women find a full beard sexy. Contrary to the alarm raised by this thread, the article suggests that beards are, in fact, making a comeback.
Wow, if you can think of it, someone's already got a web site out there about it - including one to discuss KILTS, of all things!

I wear a short goatee, and it has black, brown and colorless hair. I don't like shaving, and I look like a kid without it. I've not really asked anyone what they thought about it.
I figure it's my face, I'll keep it the way I want ( so long as the wife doesn't kick me out of the house!)

I have to wonder what the response might have been if they'd phrased the question a little differently.
My own lady doesn't like a "full" beard - she prefers that I keep it groomed, using a #5 guard down the sides and a #8 at the chin, tapered in at the corners of the mouth, keeping the neck clean.
If you asked her if she finds a full beard sexy, she'd say "no."
If you asked her if she finds a well-trimmed/well-groomed beard sexy, she'd probably get a bit... excited.
