My hemp kilt beat me up and tried to soften me up.
Just how much does this kilt weigh?

It is heavier than any other kilt I own. I don't know how much it weighs... POUNDS. Tonight when I took my wife out to dinner I stood in the wash of a big truck speeding by on the road... HUGE gust of wind. The pleats barely rippled.
My toe has its own heartbeat right now... Something large and metal landed right on top of my toenail. I uttered profanities so loud and so foul that the dog got scared and peed on the carpet.
I'd say the kilt is heavy enough to have its own effect on the tides and perhaps the migration patterns of coconut carrying swallows.

I do have a question either to the the Hempologist Dreadbelly or to Robert but how well does the kilt stand up to fading? Will it stay black or will it fade like a pair of jeans (no hissing please)?

3.21 pounds. The cloth is 12oz per square yd. there is 6.5 yds of material. at under 2/3yd long. the hardware is about 4 oz. The leather belt and sporran add another pound. Then there's all the gack that's stuffed into the pockets accessories not included.
A 11 oz 8yd kilt would weigh 3.63 pounds
A 16 oz 8 yd kilt would weigh in at 5.28 pounds

And I had the sporran clipped to the front, and the belt still in. Sporran full with wallet and keys.
I've never had a kilt try to break me in before. My other kilts have slid down but have never hurt me. Usually I have to take the sporron off completely before letting it drop. This one sort of crashed to the earth. I think the big dog clip on the left is what got me.

Yes ...but...really what's the point? carbon fibre is lighter and probably the way to go although still in the experimental stage at the moment.
