Thanks to all for the warm welcomes. I needed to catch up on my own thread!

<chortle> It's difficult to live in Columbia meeting Joe eventually! He is the original people person. I'm pretty sure I met him within 6 months of moving here, when he was helping out with an orchestra concert for school kids. I'll make note, but there's no telling when I'll run into him next.

No worries, I talk to him on the phone every month or so. He and his wife visit my mom here in Asheville several times per year. It would probably be no surprise to you that he acts that way (the eternal TV announcer and mega-extrovert) all the time.

Yep! That's Joe alright. We used to have the booth next to WIS at the State Fair, Joe is ALWAYS the center of attention.

One year I was standing in the walkway and this older couple comes over to me and kept looking at one another while grinning ear to ear. The gentleman leans over and says, do you know who you are? I said I sure do; but, who do you think I am? He said your Joe Pinner! How he thought my young, skinny @$$ was Joe beats me. Joe had left after the weather forcast which had to be an hour before.
