When you see a store in India named "10,000 Pipers" and you stop in to see if they sell kilts. (Unfortunately no, even though they had a picture of a babpiper as their symbol. Was a tobacco store!)
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

When you're willing to drive 2000 kilometers in two days to attend a kilt night with some fellow X-Markers.

Just curious as a new kiltie and college student, how rough was it when you first wore it on campus to classes. I have been out and about town in my kilt and I really didn't mind but the idea of having to do a full-time class load in a kilt is still a bit intimidating.

And about the pants in the relationship. My date for my friends wedding got teased about wearing the pants in our relationship.

Which college do you attend? I've been kilted on the OTC, MSU and Drury Campuses, and in general, the response has been pretty positive or least neutral from students.

    Cheers,

    Todd

When you go to your first Scottish Country Dance class, and you are the only one in a kilt.

The only problem I can see with wearing a kilt around a college/university campus, is fending off the unwanted advances from the lassies. ;)

If you are man enough to wear the kilt, then you are man enough to understand the teasing comes from envy. It is not what others say about you that matters, it is what your inter-voice says that is important.

Do not listen to others when you know you are right and wearing a kilt is never wrong.

Problem? You and I must have different views of what is considered a problem.

Actually, everybody on campus (so far as I know) loves it!

And I've always found that just laughing along with the teasers is a better response than getting mad. Who doesn't need a little help taking themselves less seriously?
