My bikes, 2005 Litespeed Siena Mavic equipes and Ultegra triple. 2005 litespeed Solano real design wheels ultegra double
and a 2008 Pedal Force carbon I just built up with Ultegra, compact cranks and Ksyrium ES wheels. Like kilts, one can never have too many bikes! You should ride RAGBRAI, Iowa is the reason I started lilting.
I would love a Calfee Bamboo frame.

Welcome from the other side of the hill. I didn't realize there were more rabble down here. Thought I was the only one in Monterey County.

I've heard good things about the Iowa bike event. I'm curious, how did the ride start your interest in kilts?
I know of at least two people in the Monterey area who visit this site including a work mate who actually made a kilt for her son. He throws the shotput on his high school team and is considering entering some Scottish events this spring.

Oh, oh... I can smell a RAGBRAI "team" starting to form. That ride has been on my wish list for several years, pending completion of my just-completed Sea to Sea ride(s).

Also, my first public kiltwearing experience was on the week-long OATBRAN (One Awesome Tour - Bike Ride Across Nevada) when I exchanged bike shorts for a Sport Kilt at the end of each day. I was a bit nervous the first evening, but the other cyclists never said a word (they were probably jealous. )

Several of the highland games athletic competitions in Cen-Cal have provisions for 'walk-ons", especially for the buff young men out to "strut their stuff." It's really fun to watch them go for it. Send PM's to Alan H and TimC, two of our hometown Nor-Cal Rabble athletes for more insight about breaking into the big time.

I wore my kilt to last Saturday's Monterey Velo Club Christmas party & enjoyed dancing with many of the beautiful ladies in our club...power of the kilt in action.
I was a member of the Monterey Velo Club, 1973-1975!!! I well remember training rides in Pebble Beach and doing the Butterfly Criterium in Pacific Grove!

Not that I was any good, mind you....

Hey, get your friends son on here if he's thinking about entering some Scottish Throwing events. There's a long thread with a mess of information on it, here. Note that I *think* he has to be 17 in order to participate in Nor Cal.
