Sam is 13 and into Baseball and Scouts, no time for kilts. Sarah is 11 going on 25 and is constantly embarrassed by her father. We waited 15 years before kids because we had stuff that we wanted to do. I'm glad we did but sometimes folks think we're grandparents. It's also hard to related to other moms and dads sometimes as we could be their parents.
Case in point: I was showing one of my sleeping bags to another scout leader and told him that I bought it in May 1971. He said, "That bag is three months older than me!"
As for the kids; I wouldn't want it any other way, they are the joy of my life! even though I threaten to sell them to the gypsies sometimes.

How true! There were times I would have paid the gypsies to take them away, but they have turned into fine young adults now.

Two of hers, one of each. One of mine, a son. My son, Blaine Keller is married and has 2 sons of his own. Aidan and Murphy. My wife's daughter is newly engaged and is a researcher at a major University Hospital in Maryland. Her son is said to be a firefighter in Maryland. He has been out of her life for years, now. Blaine turns 30 this year. The other two are 27 and 30.

Eventually I'll have kids, I'm way to maternal as is and I think the guys in my apartment breezeway are getting tired of me telling them to go to class and wash their dishes. I doubt if I'll have more than two weens though.

We have four small children at home. The oldest and only girl will be 6 this summer. Then I have three boys that are ages 4, nearly 3, and 8 months. We also lost a boy in the womb between nos. 3 and 4. Our eight years of marriage have been very productive!
The wife and I still have plenty of child bearing years ahead of us, so who knows what the future might bring!
I'll echo the sentiments of the poster who said don't bother waiting till you are "financially ready." Truth is you never think you have enough money to support children, no matter how much you earn, and the truth is also that people of all incomes somehow manage to make it work every day. My wife is a stay-at-home mom, so our family income comes from my humble museum curator salary and the extra income from the kiltmaking. We do just fine, so it is possible to make it happen!
We also advise people to start a family when you are young and have the enegery to chase the kids around, and the stamina to handle waking up at all hours of the night. Plus, with any luck, you'll be able to enjoy future grandkids while you are still young enough to run around and play with 'em. :-)

I voted no, because I don't have any children (that I know of ), however I'm not completely against the thought of having one. BUT, I am getting old and there are no likely prospects right now, so I probably won't have any.
I guess I'll just have to spoil my nephew. I can always give him back when I'm done with him.

One boy (7) and one girl (5).
Most difficult job in the world, but by far the most rewarding. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
