    Another Snake Head Sgian

OK...JS sent me a wonderful cast of his deceased Rat snake, and I just put the finishing touches on my new sgian. (photos go clickety pop)

    And in action....

"Is that a snake in your sock, or is it just a JS sgian?" (Mae West)

In the small world category...it turns out that JS and I both earned graduate degrees with snake biology as our thesis subject. In fact, we both presented papers at the same professional meeting in Memphis, TN as students. We probably bumped into each other several times over the course of the week. That was back in 1981, and now we connect once again. How cool is that?

Looks positively stunning. You didn't waste any time getting the Pantherophis connected to a blade. Have you worn it publicly?

I was thinking out loud earlier today.... wouldn't a large sized Agkistrodon piscivorus look absolutely breathtaking cast as a handle for a dirk?

For that matter, almost any Trimeresurus sp. would be breathtaking.

In grad school, there was a classmate whom I watched dive headfirst into a pond after a monstrous Nerodia fasciata. He was crazier than Steve Irwin. He caught her too.

Oh man, I would LOVE something like this.

Too bad I'd have no idea where to start. Guess I'll stick to buying my gear.

    Hi,
I just had to bump this to say...wow! This thread is one of the first I stumbled onto during a long and arduous Google session and got me reading the forum - I think these absolutely rock and only wish I'd been involved in this site when my sister's pet Royal Python died a few months back. I don't know how she would have felt about me chopping it's head off and shipping it to America but her boyfriend would have loved having a sgian memorial to his dearly departed Boo and I would have given it a shot... :P
Do you still produce these? He has a birthday coming up and I'm thinking another species still might float his boat as they have several other snakes and a couple of lizards so I figure there must be SOMETHING close right?
