I have to say it's one of the best looking kilts I've seen displayed on XMTS...I know a lot of people like Isle of Skye and the Canadian Maple Leaf, but thses photos really do the Braveheart justice...Excellent match of colors too, the hose are perfect!
Outstanding.

Sharp look. Have had that on the list for some time too. Curious though, do our experts have a word for the way the kilt is pleated?

Trefor,
Excellent kilt. I've never seriously considered this tartan before, but I think I'm changing my mind...
Here's a link for the DIY types. http://www.kilts-n-stuff.com/Tartan/...rt_tartan.html The Celtic Croft is a sponsor of XMTS.
How many yards of fabric are in your kilt? (I really like the way that tartan pleats to the sett...)

You look great in it. I don't know that I would have picked that one out, but seeing you in it, I'm really taken with it.

Great looking kilt indeed! I definitely prefer the correct version of the Braveheart Tartan vs. the one they call the Braveheart Tartan at SportKilt. It always confused me why they called that tartan that, when it was obviously not.
Yours looks amazing though!

Trefor, I've always liked this "tartan" and it does make into a good-looking kilt. I especially like the extra care taken to make those flashes.
So, now the question is, what about the 'Rob Roy (1995)' tartan??

I asked for it to be pleated to the sett - I don't know if anyone else who is buying it has gone for the stripe option.

Thanks Ayin.
The STA lists 4 tartans as "Braveheart" - this one of course (3116), Braveheart Warrior (2231), Braveheart Dress (2236) and Braveheart Hunting (2237), the last three are all ascribed to the same designer.
The sport kilt one doesn't appear to be any of the above and clearly it is nothing to do with the movie at all. You do see other tartans in the movie but it's not one of them either.

That's a heck of a tartan, and a really nice kilt! Darn you, Trefor! Any idea how much it would cost to ship one "over the pond"? Again, you wear it well, and it looks like a wonderful garment!!

According to the website, shipping to the US is £ 22.50 .
Lovely kilt Trefor. That tartan has really grown on me and seeing it in your pics has tipped the scale right over. It's on the list.
