T'was in 1981 on the Trooping of the Colour - seemed like only yesterday - nurse I'm dribbling down my chin, can you help me clean it up....
Thought there was something more recently on the Mall too. Where a protester ran towards the Royal coach and one of the guard ran after him and wrestled him to the ground.

I am always amazed by the brazen idiocy of some people! I suspect the same ill mannered loons turn from taunting the guards to checking under our kilts! As for threatening the royal coach - well that's a death wish plain and simple.

Mmm didn't an Englishman famously urinate on the side of the Alamo...
The 'Eathen in his idleness bows down to wood and stone,
'E don't obey no orders unless they is his own,
He keeps his side arms awful,
And he leaves them all about,
Until up comes the Regiment and kicks the 'Eathen out.

Right, that's when Grant defeated the British in World War I, right?

No, no, no... That was done by King Arthur in the Spanish American War of 1066. You can see his pistol on display in the Inverness City Museum, along with his kilt (so this doesn't drift too far off-off topic!).
