This is true in correspondence, but it does not apply to the correct usage of Esq. on social calling cards. (The OED is, after all, a dictionary, not a book of etiquette.)

I still remember Dan Ocean's card from the movie Ocean's Eleven. Nice, clean, simple, effective. Gotta get me one of thems.

While reading through this thread I can't help but think of the business card comparison scene from "American Psycho."

Business cards are free at Vistaprint.com. They do come with an annoying logo on the back that says "Business cards are free at Vistaprint.com".

I'd get them printed up with "Rock Star" as your title.

I ordered my "XMarks" cards from Vistaprints, and they were not FREE. With the picture and the logo work I wanted and the additional info on the card, it did cost a fair amount for the two thousand I ordered. I have handed out quite a few already and everyone who has seen them has approved.

I use three different business cards:
    • One set for work
    • One set to introduce me as a piper
    • And, another set to introduce me as a convener for the Clan MacIntyre Association

I tend to use my CMA card as a social card.

LOL! Japanese businessmen are avid business card exchangers. It's a part of their business culture, so you had better be prepared at introductions.
