I haven't been on the forum for a while and find out there is a kilt night right here in Greensboro!!!!!
I have a regular weekly meeting on Tuesday, but may have to play hookey.

Welcome back, Packhound. I certainly hope you can make it out tomorrow night. The more folks show up, the easier it is to continue this as a regular event.
It looks like we are going to have quite a good showing for our first kilt night. Assuming my count is correct, we should have about 5 xmarkers present (myself, Chris, Brian, Dall and Packhound). I also spoke to the Elliot Clan Commisioner for NC, who lives in Greensboro, and he is interested in coming, and is going to invite one of his pipe band friends as well. That would put us at 7. If I've left anybody out, please let me know. I'm going to try to get there a few minutes early so I can get us a table and I want to make sure we've got room for everybody that wants to attend.
I look forward to seeing all of y'all tomorrow night.

Keep up the good work. I'm in High Point occasionally, I'll try to check in when I'm coming that way.

You're always welcome at our events, should you be in town. If you give us some notice, we may have an extra event just to say hi and meet up. I'm sure nobody will argue with an excuse to kilt up and drink beer.
I've added the monthly meeting to the XMarks global calendar so that anyone looking for an event will see it listed. I'm not sure how many people actually use that feature of the website, but I figure it can't hurt our attendance.

Elliott and Brian,
It was great to meet you guys. I'm already excited for next month's meetup. Hopefully we will soon have enough folks to reserve the upstairs room.

Rob, it was great to meet you as well. I'm glad you could make it out. I have a feeling the weather didn't do the turnout any favors, and we had two members that were injured/sore and couldn't make it. Either way, I expect the December event to have a better showing.
Here's a couple of pictures from the event last night.

From left to right are Rob (Packhound), myself, and Brian (reedplayernc).

Hope to see everyone out there for the next kilt night on December 8!

Looking good boys! I really hate now that I didn't make it. I had just gotten home from a 30 mile backpacking trip up the Appalachian trail in the virginia highlands. Good lord I underestimated the amount of energy needed! LOL.
I will definitely see you guys in December!
Elliott - can't wait to see your new tank!
Regards
Chris.

I have made it back. I will be at the next Kilt night. I have to get a vest from somewhere..any ideas?
Elliott I was at 3 events in 3 weekends. 2 at VIR and the ARRC in Atlanta. I now have 2.5 months off from racing duties.
I am glad to see that we have grown in number.
See you soon.

Welcome back, Scully. Hope everything went well with the move. As for vests, I think the general consensus is to go to Target. They typically have two or three different styles.
I'll be posting a new thread for the December event probably later this afternoon. Turnout is looking good so far. We could have 7 kilties. That's an exciting prospect in my view.
