As far as I am aware, the Mod Squad voted on all of the custom titles. None were "arbitrarily given" by any one person alone.

Having personally been on the voting staff for many of those, I can attest that this is 100% accurate. I find it very disappointing (to say the least) that anything other is being put forth as truth.

Steve, you've put forth that the titles were given by a single person and/or "on a whim" however the only solo action or whim clearly seems to be your taking them away. If you don't like them (which you've made no secret you don't) then take them because you don't like them. But please, do not insult the previous voting and assigning staff by putting forth a fabrication to justify your actions.

Oops, just read the new rules. Found the rule saying that "goodbye" posts will usually be deleted.

Can't say that I'm in complete agreement with all of the rules, and to be honest, I liked the titles, they were fun.

I already miss the titles, both rank and given. They gave character to a community. Without them, it's starting to seem merely an informational board.

I would like to thank everyone for their comments, suggestions and concerns so far.

I will be bringing all of the comments about errors in the program to the attention of Chris, but he is in the UK and will not be available for a few hours yet.

Those comments and suggestions about the look of the forum will get fixed. I too agree that the site is bright. We have gone through four changes, darkening it each time. We are trying to find a happy medium between a stark white sheet and a black gaming site. The colors of the windows and panes and blocks of the site are fairly easy to change, but after looking at this site for hours each day and trying different combinations of colors and tints it becomes hard to tell when you get it just right. Each monitor is slightly different. I've looked at the site on seven monitors and I thought we had it.

I thank those who voiced concerns. All concerns are valid and valued. Thank you for having the conviction to state them.

Thanks you to everyone who has commented on here in regards to the new system.
A lot of people are going to miss the ranking system. It was fun and gave one a sense of pride and usefulness to rank up. I worked as an advocate on here for some time and was always happy to announce the new rank ups and see people contributing often.
But Steve felt that some of the newbies were sometimes confused or intimidated by the ranking system and that some VERY few people would post 'filler' posts to help them rank up faster.
He's the owner of the forum now and this is just one of the many changes he's putting in place to work towards his vision of the forum as a more open and fair place.

As far as the special titles certain members of the forum had; It is now the responsibility of the Moderators to get together the names of all those who have contributed a very great amount to the forum and to vote on awarding them a title.
If you know of someone you particularly feel deserves a special title feel free to send me a PM and the moderators can talk it over and vote one it.

This is a real period of change and upheaval in the forum and there are a lot of new things that some of us dislike while others love, but hopefully the forum will eventually come through it an even better place than it already was.
