I started with a couple of SportKilts and Stillwater Standards for throwing cabers etc, hiking, fishing--that sort of thing. Still use the SWK Standards for going out for a night on the town too...

    But...

Had my first tank made by Matt Newsome and I think I'm hooked. I'll still keep some lower end kilts for the games because I do NOT want tacky and grunge on a $400.00-$800.00 kilt, but once you go to a tank made with great craftsmanship, I don't think anything compares.

My first kilt was a machine sewed casual from Lochcarron in 13oz. I followed that with a tank then went the non-traditional route with a USAKilts Victory and two Pittsburgh Kilts. My last four kilts have all been tanks. Two of my non-traditional kilts were worn when I was cooking. The third one I'm working into a modern, contemporary style of wear. I've come to view non-traditional styles of kilts to be more specialized than tartan kilts.

Like a lot of you I started with a SWK Standard and have sold most of them to purchase nicer wool kilts. Now it is only pv for hiking and casual wear and my wool for everything else.
